Downtown Detroit is home to award-winning Campus Martius Park and other historic public spaces that anchor key districts and neighborhoods and serve as welcoming gathering places for metro Detroit residents, employees, visitors and businesses.  

Since 2000, the Downtown Detroit Partnership in collaboration with the City of Detroit has been the recognized leader in creating programming and managing downtown Detroit's historic and transformational public spaces and urban parks.

Our six Downtown Detroit Parks — Campus Martius Park, Beacon Park, Cadillac Square, Capitol Park, Spirit of Detroit Plaza, and Grand Circus Park — attract over 2 million visitors annually through cultural experiences, programs, events, and activations.

It's time for our final #BeaconPark Movie Night!
Remedy those winter blues with a free movie...or THREE on the big screen inside a cozy heated tent in the middle of the park. 
Grab a blanket or two and enjoy the evening with family and friends.

Winter Workout at Beacon Park

Start your Sunday the right way at Beacon Park with Pulse Fitness. The Winter Workout will take place inside the heated Winter Lodge! Pulse Fitness will take elements of their most dynamic classes and merge them into one heart-pounding routine.  A full body class featuring cardio box, body resistance and core. Be sure to bring your water and a mat if you have one.

THE DOWNTOWN DETROIT PARTNERSHIP WITH SUPPORT FROM MEIJER OFFERS SHOPPERS FREE ICE SKATING ADMISSION TO THE RINK AT CAMPUS MARTIUS PARK

Beginning January 22, The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) in collaboration with Meijer will offer shoppers free ice skating admission passes to The Rink at Campus Martius Park. In total, 500 passes will be distributed per week at six store locations in Detroit and surrounding suburbs.

Detroit's New Year's Eve ball drop moving to Beacon Park from Campus Martius

The annual New Year’s Eve ball drop in downtown Detroit is getting a new home with more space.

“The Drop” — DTE Energy’s Motor City NYE Presented by Quicken Loans — is moving from Campus Martius to Beacon Park located at Grand River and Cass avenues, event producers say.

“Beacon Park’s energy and beauty will provide the ideal backdrop for ringing in the new year,” Nancy Moody, vice president of Public Affairs for DTE Energy, said in a news release sent by event organizers at Motor City NYE LLC. “We’re proud to support this Detroit tradition and to provide the venue for party goers and families alike to celebrate a one-of-a-kind New Year’s Eve.”

UGLYCHRISTMASSWEATER.COM PRESENTS GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ TITLE ATTEMPT AT BEACON PARK FOR LARGEST GATHERING OF PEOPLE WEARING HOLIDAY SWEATERS

DETROIT - NOV. 27, 2017 – DTE Energy Foundation and the Downtown Detroit Partnership are excited to announce a title attempt for the largest gathering of people wearing holiday (Christmas season) sweaters and jumpers at Beacon Park on December 9. Presented by UglyChristmasSweater.com, the Guinness World Records™ attempt will aim to break the current record of 3,473 set at the Kansas Athletics vs. Montana men’s basketball game on December 19, 2015 in Lawrence, KS.

Participants will be asked to convene at Beacon Park on the corner of Cass and Grand River at 6:30 p.m. to begin the process of getting participants in place for the official count. UglyChristmasSweater.com will also be on site selling an assortment of holiday sweaters to anyone needing approved attire.
